Bourbon, rum, wine, gin… we love them all.
This is not your average barley wine. It has all the notes of normal barley wine – toffee, caramel, malt, rainis, plums etc, but in addition to that there’s also chocolate and vanilla. A smooth and balanced experience. Aged in bourbon barrels.
This one has been aged in Jamaican rum barrels which give it a distinct rum smell and flavor while still being balanced between chocolate, rum, toffee, malt and a substantial amount of alcohol.
With this one the idea was to create a beer that resembles the classic gin and tonic cocktail. So we brewed an Imperial Gose with lime and cucumber and barrel aged it in Kyrö gin barrels.
What do you get when you cross dark beer with red wine? You will get something like this – a beer that has the distinct characteristics of both. There’s a definite red wine taste, smell and dryness with the tannins but there are also notes of coffee and chocolate with some residual sweetness.
This beer was brewed for our 5. anniversary. Barrel aged in 3 different kinds of oak barrels (single malt whisky, rum, bourbon) and then ice distilled to bring it to 21.9% ABV. It’s full of flavors and a very potent experience. Enjoy with three or four friends.
